Research Description:

My mathematical research is in error-correcting codes, in particular in the area of subspace codes. So far, I have investigated three main problems, working with my PhD advisor Dr. Heide Gluesing-Luerssen. First, attempting to find more constructions of cyclic orbit codes. Second, describing the structure of distance distributions of subspace codes. Finally, classifying the possible automorphisms of cyclic orbit codes.

Before graduate school, I worked on prime labelings of graphs and coprime mappings at Seattle University with Dr. Steve Klee, Dr. Leanne Robertson, Andrew Park, and Bayley Larsen.

I am also interested in the effects of alternative grading systems on student learning. As part of a community of practitioners I have contributed to a paper describing that community and its growth.
